Lost Time is a new body of small-scale oil paintings on paper that explores memory, intimacy, nostalgia, and longing.
The paintings are realistic, yet intentionally left unfinished in places. Certain areas remain blank, allowing the images to hover on the paper and inviting viewers to complete them through their own imagination.
These works resemble fragments of memory, quietly documenting fleeting moments and melancholic objects, forming a kind of visual diary.
In this series, Salem seeks to preserve moments and everyday objects that carry personal and emotional significance. The monochromatic palette further intensifies the sense of memory, nostalgia, and the passage of time.
